What we are looking for

This year we want to hear from new speakers, young people and diverse voices that can articulate the challenges that impact on and issues that are important to people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. We want to hear from people who have a vision to shape our multicultural Australia.

We also want to continue to lead the conversation on important issues by learning from the past, addressing new and emerging issues, and working collaboratively across sectors to find solutions.

One of those issues is how we bridge the gap between multicultural Australia and Australia’s First Nations Peoples. We think this is an important alliance, and that through partnership, both communities can be stronger and more successful in achieving their goals.

We want to hear your bright ideas, innovative and strengths-based solutions, and new and emerging issues that need addressing.

FECCA Committee encourages submissions from a range of presenters, including:

  • Academic researchers
  • Service providers
  • Community based projects/initiatives
  • Multicultural thinkers with innovative ideas

All submissions will be considered with regards to innovation, originality and importance for FECCA’s work.

Submissions

The Program Committee invites you to submit an abstract for consideration for inclusion in the 2019 FECCA Conference Program. All abstracts for inclusion as a presentation will be reviewed by the Committee. Please note there are limited spaces available for presentations in the Conference program. Before submitting an abstract please read the instructions for presenters and abstract guidelines.

This year, the Program Committee is looking for three different approaches for presentations:

  1. Oral presentations – 20 minute presentations for all delegates to learn about new innovative research and the path forward for a multicultural Australia
  2. Workshop presentations – presentations in break-out sessions to encourage discussion and inspire workshops where delegates will develop solutions and plan the way ahead.
  3. Poster presentations – address your abstract in a visual form
